In 1996, Diane Clark became a student of graphotherapist Vimala Rodgers, originator of The Vimala System of Handwriting for the enhancement of self-esteem and personal creativity, and she has personally used The Vimala System for over 25 years. In 2001, Clark taught a course at the Rhodes College (Memphis, TN) Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning entitled "Handwriting: A Handy Tool for Positive Change," based on Vimala Rodgers' book Your Handwriting Can Change Your Life. Currently Clark mentors private clients who seek to change their limiting beliefs by changing their handwriting.
THE MIND/HAND RELATIONSHIP
"Since each stroke of the pen reaffirms a thinking habit, and each thinking habit shapes our self-image, and self-image is the lens through which we see life, and how we see life determines our behavior, if an alphabet were designed that exhibited only the noblest human qualities, world peace might be a possibility"
"Each stroke of the Vimala Alphabet is specifically designed to reflect our noblest attitudes and raise our sense of self-esteem and self-worth."
"It's not what HAPPENS to us that shapes our self-image; it's how our subconscious mind INTERPRETS what happens to us, and it is the subconscious mind that moves the pen. In other words, when your handwriting reflects self-limiting thought habits and you replace certain letter formations with the Vimala Letters, each of which accesses soul-based energy, you are telling your subconscious mind how to think, and you begin to interpret life from a non-judging, spirit-based attitude. In doing so you are simultaneously revitalizing and re-shaping your self-image. In scientific languaging, what happens on the physical level is called cortical remapping or neuroplasticity. In plain English, as you change the way you write, you are telling your mind how to think, the subconscious obeys, and the neurological patterns in the brain have no choice but to realign themselves. As with any transformational process, this shift takes a minimum of 40 consecutive days."
